Freeing Doctors to Care for Patients
"This is going to be the solution that frees you from the dysfunctional medical system..."
I posted this recently in my private Substack, and am re-posting it here.
This is a fantastic interview with Dr. Simone Gold, on the “Informed Dissent” podcast:
Dr. Gold talks about her trial, and her experience in prison, which is fascinating and well worth listening to the whole thing. But where it really starts to get interesting is around the 25:40 mark, where she starts to talk about her “GoldCare” venture.
Some highlights:
“This is going to be the solution that frees you from the dysfunctional medical system, where you can find doctors that will put your best interests first.”
Dr. Gold calls GoldCare Health and Wellness “a brand-new way of delivering ethical, honorable medical care… what’s happened, really since the 80s, to medicine, is a shame… and then in the last couple of years we saw very explicitly, doctors not honoring the Hippocratic Oath, not putting their patients first.
“We’ve all now become familiar with stories where hospitals are actually hurting patients… killing patients, putting them on death protocols, medical kidnapping situations.
”So, the American people have watched this, and they are scared, and they don’t know how to find doctors that have their best interests at heart, and our answer is GoldCare.”
“…to get yourself a physician who will put you first, you have to remove the middleman. The middlemen are: The insurance companies, government, the regulators, the administrators. So GoldCare… does not work with any third-party person. You have a direct relationship with your GoldCare physician.”
Dr. Gold addresses concerns about insurance:
“People have been led to believe that healthcare is so expensive that they can’t afford it without insurance… we teach you how to go without insurance and yet not be financially at risk. We call it assurance, vs. insurance.”
GoldCare does partner with a healthcare cost-sharing ministry–Zion–for catastrophic coverage, says Gold. So individuals who join GoldCare have access to their network of physicians, educational programs, and other services, and also have catastrophic-care coverage via Zion.
A big question that comes up in this interview is about medical malpractice insurance for GoldCare’s physicians, and whether those insurance providers have pushed back against what GoldCare is doing. Dr. Gold’s answer is surprising and encouraging:
“We moved completely away from medical malpractice insurance,” she says, “which was a very big business decision… we made a business decision to solve that problem in a different way, that protects the doctor, but doesn’t cost the doctor fifteen thousand dollars (a year).”
“I do think,” she says, “eventually, doctors are going to have to make a choice about which camp they want to live in. Because if you’re living in the insurance model, you’re told very much to CYA, and it’s not really about the patients’ best interests… we know that game.
“But if you come to GoldCare, you are liberated to really put the patients’ interests first. And I don’t think it’s going to be so comfortable for a doctor to live in both camps.”
Asked about the possibility of “Freedom Hospitals”, Dr. Gold replies:
“We are just beginning conversations with a partner in the San Diego area, to build a facility that would serve most of the same needs that a hospital would serve. We don’t ever want to be a ‘hospital’, because they’re over-regulated by the government. But there are ways to do almost exactly what a hospital does, not calling it a hospital.”
GoldCare holds “no bias for or against what you and I call ‘traditional’ medicine. Traditional medicine, allopathic medicine, and naturopath medicine, work together. So you end up picking the primary person that works for you. You might pick a naturopath doctor, you might pick an allopath doctor… you might actually pick the dietician to be your primary doctor!”
Dr. Gold stresses that GoldCare is still in the startup phase, and will be expanding its services in the near future. But, she says, “demand is overwhelming.”
The entire interview is worth listening to, and especially at around the 26:00 mark, where she talks about the activities of AFLDS, and the AFLDS Citizens Corps:
“…we do a lot of news… Frontline News… we will occasionally bring a strategic lawsuit, perhaps once a year, maybe twice a year. We’re currently revving up against the California Medical Board for a lot of targeting of physicians like myself and others, for ‘misinformation’, trying to pull our licenses… and we are very aggressively fighting back and pushing back on that.”
“And of course our Citizens Corps, where we help people at the local level hold on to their freedom in their daily life, like a school situation, or a medical kidnapping situation. So please check out our Citizens Corp.”
