My dad used to say that too. (We had a "Cui Bono" t-shirt made up for him once.) He also cared more than anything about the future his grandchildren would live into - and there are a whole lot of us working to make sure it's a good one.
great point at the very beginning about how the 'bad guys' have incentives too... (and to add a little to that idea) ...they are not all stupid. that is one of the most irritating thing about many libertarian commentators, to take the position that everyone that they don't agree with are just incompetents. What if incomitance is exactly what they are trying to do??
